Welcome to Panda Weather (hereinafter referred to as "this application" or " We")—a weather service tool developed specifically for users. Its core features include: minute-level street-level forecasts, 24-hour real-time weather monitoring, 40-day forecasts, national air quality rankings, iOS depth dynamic wallpapers, original Chinese-style illustration wallpapers, Chinese-style desktop widgets, lock screen pet "Panda Anan," twelve-hour wellness clock, and multi-device compatibility with iPad/Watch/Vision Pro.

After downloading this application and granting necessary permissions, you may access all features. Most of your data is stored locally on your device by default. This Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") aims to clearly inform you (hereinafter referred to as "the User") about how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information, as well as your rights regarding such information.

By downloading this application from the Apple App Store, granting necessary permissions such as location and storage, and activating any feature, you are deemed to have fully read, thoroughly understood, and voluntarily accepted all terms of this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, you should immediately cease using and uninstall this application.

Scope and Boundaries

  1. This Policy applies solely to information collected by this application through device functions (location, storage, network, etc.) and does not apply to:

Information collected in offline scenarios;

Information collected by third-party services (e.g., weather data providers, analytics SDKs). Third parties operate under their own privacy policies (see the attached "Third-Party SDK List" for details), and we assume no responsibility for their practices.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  1. The establishment, performance, interpretation, and dispute resolution of this Policy shall be governed by the laws of the Mainland Region of the People's Republic of China (excluding all conflict of laws rules).
  2. Any disputes arising from this Policy shall first be resolved through friendly consultation between the parties. If consultation fails, either party has the right to file a lawsuit with the People's Court with jurisdiction in the defendant's location.

We strictly adhere to the following principles when processing your information to ensure lawful and compliant data processing while safeguarding your privacy rights:

  1. Local Storage Priority: Most of your data, including wallpaper files, weather caches, and component configurations, is stored locally on your device and is not actively uploaded to our servers.
  2. Minimum Necessary Collection: We collect only the information essential to deliver core functionalities and do not gather personal data unrelated to those functions;
  3. Location Data Non-Persistent Association: Location information is used solely for real-time weather queries and is not permanently associated with your personal identifiers. Current city data is temporarily cached only for forecast updates;
  4. No Advertising Data Collection: This app is an ad-free, clean version. We do not collect any information for advertising purposes and do not share data with advertising providers;
  5. User Control: We provide clear paths for permission revocation and data deletion, allowing you to manage the collection and use of your personal information at any time.

Scope and Scenarios of Information Collection

We collect information only with your authorization, adhering to the principles of "lawfulness, legitimacy, and necessity." The specific scope and scenarios are as follows:

Essential Permissions and Corresponding Information

The following permissions are essential for core weather services. Denying authorization will disable corresponding features:

  1. Location Permission
  2. Purpose: To obtain your precise or approximate location for providing minute-level rainfall forecasts, local living indices, and air quality rankings for your city;
  3. Collection Method: Prefers GPS for precise location when authorized. If GPS is disabled, IP address or manually entered city information may be used for auxiliary positioning to ensure basic weather forecasts remain available.
  4. Processing Rules: Used solely for real-time weather data matching. No location history is stored. Temporarily cached city information is automatically replaced when the app closes or upon the next location update.
  5. Network Permissions
  6. Purpose: Connects to meteorological data servers to retrieve real-time weather (temperature/humidity/wind), 40-day forecasts, and national air quality rankings; also used to update traditional Chinese-style wallpaper resources.
  7. Collection Rules: Only transmits weather data requests and wallpaper resource download commands. Does not collect your web browsing history or data usage information.

Optional Permissions and Corresponding Information

You may choose whether to grant the following permissions. Disabling them does not affect basic weather query functionality:

  1. Storage Permission

Purpose: Used to download and save traditional Chinese-style illustration wallpapers and weather screenshots to your device locally, or share wallpapers/screenshots to third-party platforms;

Collection Policy: Only stores wallpapers and screenshots you actively download or generate. Does not scan or read other files on your device. Corresponding storage data is immediately cleared upon deletion of wallpapers/screenshots.

  1. Notification Permission

Purpose: To push weather alerts, rainfall reminders, and twelve-hour wellness tips to you;

Collection Policy: Does not collect any personal information related to notifications. Only pushes function-related alerts. Disabling notifications does not affect core forecasting functionality.

Automatically Collected Non-Identifiable Information

To optimize product experience and troubleshoot issues, we automatically collect the following anonymized data, which cannot identify you individually:

1. Device Basics: Device model, OS version, unique device identifier (only IDFV collected to distinguish devices and prevent duplicate counting), app version number;

2. Usage behavior data: App usage frequency, feature usage patterns, network connection type;

3. Crash log data: Contextual information and error codes during app crashes, used to identify and resolve issues.

All data is anonymized and used solely for technical adaptation and experience iteration. It is not linked to your personal identifiers.

The information we collect is used solely for the following purposes and not for any other scenarios not specified in this policy:

Core Functionality Implementation

  1. Weather Service Matching: Location data is used to associate meteorological information with your region. Network permissions enable real-time updates for forecasts and air quality rankings, ensuring you receive accurate local weather information.
  2. Wallpaper and Sharing Services: Storage permissions save or share selected traditional Chinese-style wallpapers and weather screenshots, while network permissions download new wallpaper resources;
  3. Multi-Device Adaptation: Device basic information is used to optimize iPad zoom layouts, Watch font sizes, and Vision Pro immersive animations, ensuring consistent cross-device experiences.

Experience Optimization & Troubleshooting

1. Anonymized usage behavior data is used to analyze high-frequency feature demands, prioritizing iterations on functions users care about most;

2. Fault log data helps identify and resolve issues to enhance app stability;

3. Device fundamentals are used to ensure compatibility across different system versions.

Essential Notifications

Notifications are sent only in the following scenarios and do not include unrelated commercial information:

  1. Safety alerts: Sudden weather warnings to help you avoid safety risks promptly;
  2. Timely reminders: Short-duration rainfall alerts prompts to assist with travel planning and health management;
  3. Resource Updates: Notifications about new traditional Chinese-style wallpapers or feature optimizations.

Information Sharing and Transfer Guidelines

We strictly limit information sharing and transfer. We do not proactively sell or trade your personal information to any third party, and only do so under the following necessary circumstances:

Third-Party Service Providers

To deliver core functionalities, we share anonymized information with the following third-party categories under confidentiality agreements that restrict their usage scope:

  1. Weather Data Providers: We share your anonymized location data to match real-time/forecast weather data for your region. Providers are prohibited from using this information for other purposes.
  2. Statistical Analysis SDK Providers: We share anonymized device basic information and usage behavior data to analyze feature failure rates and optimize product experience. The SDK only processes de-identified data and does not access personally identifiable information;
  3. Apple Ecosystem Adaptation Service Providers: We share anonymized device model and system version information to enable multi-device adaptation for iPad/Watch/Vision Pro, ensuring cross-device functionality. For the specific list of third parties and privacy policies, please refer to the attached "Third-Party SDK List."

Legal and Administrative Requirements

If required by laws, regulations, judicial subpoenas, or government authorities to provide information, we will only disclose necessary information within the scope permitted by law. We require recipients to maintain confidentiality and use the information solely for the legally mandated purpose.

Information Transfer

We do not transfer your personal information unless one of the following circumstances occurs:

Storage Rules

  1. Storage Location: All information is stored within the People's Republic of China and is not transferred across borders.

  2. Transmission Security: Anonymized information transmitted to third parties is encrypted via SSL to prevent interception during transit;
  3. Permission & Access Controls: This app requests only the necessary permissions listed above and does not request unrelated permissions. Our staff may access de-identified log information only when troubleshooting issues, subject to multi-layered permission verification.
  4. Emergency Response: In the event of an information security incident, we will immediately activate our protocol to:

  6. Notify you of the incident via in-app pop-ups and email;
  7. Report incident resolution in accordance with regulatory requirements and cooperate with investigations as necessary.

Your Security Precautions

  1. Download this app exclusively from the Apple App Store to avoid third-party cracked versions and prevent malicious programs from stealing local wallpapers or weather caches;
  2. Do not share your device with others to prevent unauthorized access to your wallpaper files or custom settings;
  3. If your device is lost, immediately use the system's "Find My" feature to remotely lock or erase data to protect sensitive information.

Your Information Rights and How to Exercise Them

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or withdraw consent for your personal information. You may exercise these rights independently through the following methods:

Permission Management

You may enable or disable permissions such as location, storage, and notifications at any time via your device's "Settings > Privacy & Security > Panda Weather." After withdrawing authorization, we will cease collecting the corresponding information, but this will not affect the lawful processing of such information based on prior authorization.

Information Inquiry and Correction

1. Access:

  1. View downloaded Chinese-style wallpapers;
  2. View your current location city and desktop widget style;
  3. View collected device model and system version.

2. Correction:

  1. Current location city can be manually modified;
  2. Desktop widget style can be adjusted in "Settings > Widget Settings";
  3. Anonymized data cannot be individually corrected as it has been de-identified. If you notice statistical anomalies, please contact us for assistance with verification.

Deleting Information

Complete Deletion: Since data is stored locally, uninstalling this app will permanently erase all related data from your device. This action cannot be undone, so please back up important wallpapers beforehand.

Complaints and Reports

If you believe we or any third-party SDKs have violated information processing regulations, you may file a complaint via the email address in the "Contact Us" section. Please provide your device model, a detailed description of the issue, and relevant screenshots. We will verify the matter and provide feedback on the resolution within 15 business days. Alternatively, you may file a complaint with local regulatory authorities such as the Internet Information Office.

Minor Information Protection

  1. While this application may be used by minors under parental guidance, it is not primarily intended for minors under the age of 14.
  2. If you are under 18 years of age, you must read this policy with your legal guardian before using this application and obtain their explicit consent for the following matters:
  3. Authorization of location, storage, and other permissions;
  4. Downloading and sharing traditional Chinese-style wallpapers;
  5. If we discover that a minor's personal information has been processed without guardian consent, we will delete the relevant data within 7 business days after verification;
  6. Guardians wishing to inquire about or delete data generated by minors using this application may contact us and provide proof of guardianship and parent-child relationship. We will assist in processing such requests within 15 business days.
